Thrilling Derby

Its a pity Tevez (No.32) won't be celebrating with Rooney and Owen.

The 2 Manchester sides provided what was the game of the season so far. In the first half, both sides came up with attacks after attacks. United took the lead in just 2 minutes through Rooney. The English striker has been on top form since the beginning of the season. Then 14 minutes later, a Ben Foster blunder gave Barry the chance to equalise. In the second half, Fletcher met Giggs' cross to head United to the lead. However, the lead was short-lived when a moment of brilliance from Bellamy leveled the score again. United continued to pressure their neighbors and in the 80th minute, Fletcher headed in another Giggs's cross to give United the lead for the 3rd time in the match. Just when United thought all was won, City capitalized from a Ferdinand blunder to leveled the score once again. With 90 minutes gone, City thought they had managed to keep their unbeaten streak. But, a controversial "unofficial"1 extra minute from the given 4 minutes gave United one last chance. Giggs' through pass found an unmarked Owen in box who then toe poked home the winner. Mark Hughes can fume for all he want, Manchester United are victorious and have ended City's 100% start to the season.
