Wall-e

Finally managed to catch Wall- e today with Joanne. It was a great 103min of animation. With completely no spoken dialogue in the first half of the show, the robotic sounds and gestures showed very clearly what the scenes were about. This showed how wonderfully crafted the animation was. Wall-e is more than just about a cute robot falling in love with another robot. It talks about environmental issues like how the humans are mistreating earth. In the movie, there were too much rubbish on earth that everyone had to migrate to space. It portrayed a current situation of how people are not caring enough for the planet. Over reliance on technology and robots is another issue showed in the movie. Technology has made life so convenient that no one has to travel by feet anymore and all they do is eat and sleep. People are constantly trying to make life as easy as possible for themselves but over doing it actually harms everyone. Robots have made headlines all around the world. At times, robots have been made too intelligent. In one scene, the robotic assistant stops listening to the captain for orders. Humans should try not to be too smart at times. On a lighter note, Wall-e showed how harmless and adorable cockroaches can be.

Wall-e is one of the best animation films I've watched since Finding Nemo. I'll give it 5/5 for its great animation and concept. Go catch it if you have not.
