1 Van der Sar
He had a decent game, made a few important saves. His defence let him down in both of the goals.
2 G.Neville
Finally back from his injury but he certainly looked like he needed plenty of match fitness. He was slow and could not keep up with the pace of the game at one point. United needs to nurture another right back, Wes Brown is not a solution.
3 Evra
Played a very attacking role in the game. Made productive runs down the left. A good asset to the team.
5 Ferdinand
Look composed in the first half but was at fault for the second goal.
15 Vidic
Good job to him for getting his first goal with his feet. Defended strongly but was also at fault for the 2nd Zenit goal.
24 Fletcher
He showed me last night that his first 2 goals for the club were just flukes. Had a horrible game in both halfs. He shouldn't have even started. Poor performace.
18 Scholes
If not for his moment of craziness, he actually had a decent game. But he did nothing significant.
8 Anderson
I accept the fact that Anderson is still looking to regain fitness after returning from the olympics. He had a pretty good game in the middle of the park. But he seriously needs to brush up on his finishing.
17 Nani
Returning from suspension, there were high hopes of him performing well. With Ronaldo out, many were expecting him to step up his play. But, that was not the case last night. Nani falls to the ground way too easily. C'mon lad, time to play football.
10 Rooney
Had a really quiet game in the first half. He only came alive in the second period. Rooney needs to find back his form. United needs him to be at his best in every game. Did not show that last night.
32 Tevez
Tevez produced a man of the match performance last night. If there was any United player who deserve a goal, it had to be him. Running around like a mad man, Tevez has to learn not to play to deep.
Sir Alex Ferguson
This old man, what was he thinking? He said he wanted to win this badly but it wasn't shown. He needs to find a capable assistant to replace Queiroz. There was no one giving instructions ftom the touchline like Queiroz used to do. Striker, Striker, Striker!!! United needs another Striker!!! Tevez and Rooney played too deep last night, leaving no one upfront to finish. Sir Alex, United DESPERATELY NEEDS A STRIKER! (The window ends the end of August.) United are not going to defend their double with only Rooney and Tevez. Wake up old man!
