What a game it was and I missed it. Darn. I stayed up to watch the match but was too sleepy to carry on watching, so I went to bed after the first half. Check the score this morning and found out the turks have won the game. The turks were famous for being comeback kings. They would normally trail first and come back to win the game. That was exactly what they did. 0-0 at full time and trailing by 1-0 with 1min of extra-time left, Semih Senturk forced the match into penalties! Turkey were without first choice keeper, Volkan Demirel (suspended) who has established himself as a penalty stopper with Sevilla. However, veteran goalkeeper, Rustu still did a great job. Croatia missed 3 penalties and crashed out of the quarter finals. Turkey might be celebrating but they ought to be concerned about their upcoming match against the Germans. There will be 3 first team players suspended and unavailable for the game against Germany and there are still 5 players on one yellow. The German camp must be smiling that lady luck might just be on their side. Congratulations to Turkey and may the best team book their place in the final of Euro 2008.
