The morning routine was dutifully followed. As the saying goes, time flies when you are enjoying yourself. Its the 4th and final day of our trip in Malacca. We had planned during breakfast about the itinerary today. We would head down to buy egg tart, then to visit mini malaysia and the zoo. After breakfast, we took a drive down to buy some egg tarts from this shop call Tart and Tart. Unfortunately, it was closed. We still had some time so we headed to Tesco shopping mall in search of A&W. And we found it!Woohoo! I missed A&W, it is already extinct in Singapore. We ordered the famous root beer float, corny dog, curly fries and ice cream waffle (my favorite.) After a satisfying meal, we continued with the rest of the plan and headed to Mini Malaysia. We were pretty excited to go there and thought it would be nice to feel like giants! And Aed would finally have some place of his size. When we finally arrived at Mini Malaysia, we were unsure about the place as everything seemed "normal" in size. We thought maybe the exhibits were further inside the area, so bought the tickets which costed us RM17 per person. We were all looking forward to seeing miniature architecture especially Martina. To our astonishment, NOTHING in there was mini!!! Everything was in its actual size. The attraction was called Mini Malaysia because each state was exhibited in a kampong styled area. At that moment, all of us only had one feeling. Cheated. We left the place after viewing only one state exhibition. (So if you are in Malacca and think that Mini Malaysia is what you thought it is, you are wrong.) Feeling cheated, we left for the Malacca Zoo hoping it would compensate for our initial loss. When we bought the tickets for the zoo, we realized that it was actually cheaper than the entrance fee of "Mini" Malaysia! The zoo was HUGE! Very much bigger than the Singapore Zoo but alot dirtier too. The enclosures seemed as if the zoo had not hired anyone to clean them. However, the plus points were that there were many animals to see. We had a long walk around the zoo. We stopped by for an animal show, only to get disappointed in the end. The animal performance were alright but the zoo presenters were not entertaining and lively at all! We spent about 3hrs in the zoo before we set off to Johor Bahru. The car journey to JB (Johor Bahru) was about 1hr plus. But before we headed to JB, we stopped by Yong Peng to do some last minute shopping. I managed to find the peanuts I wanted and I bought some more food back for my grandma, uncle and my parents. Before we left, I indulged in one last yummy ramily burger. Back onto the road, the skies were getting darker and soon it started to storm, and I mean really storm. Heavy rain poured down accompanied with loud thunders and bright lightning flashes. We were getting sleepy, probably caused by the rain. Credit to Gerald, who was at his fullest concentration on the road. As we approached JB, the rain got smaller and stopped. When we reached JB, we went to Pelangi Plaza to have our dinner. We went into a Japanese restaurant called Sushi King. The style of the place was similar to Sakae Sushi in Singapore BUT the food was not. The Japanese food was the worst I have ever tasted in my life. The Japanese rice was really bad. In the end, we did not really eat much and left the place. It was around 930pm after we finished our dinner when my dad called me. And so we left Pelangi and headed back to Singapore! We did not expect what was about to happen next. Yup, we got lost. After making numerous U-turns, we came to a conclusion, we were LOST. Thankfully, after half an hour, we saw the light or should i say, we saw a singapore car! We followed the Singapore car which was heading to the same place as we were and we finally made it out! Thank you so much Singapore car! We reached the checkpoint and something really bizarre happened. A car in front of us drove passed the checkpoint without getting his/her passport chopped! Wow, the driver must be either really brave or really dumb. Until today, I am wondering what had happen to the driver when he reached the Singapore checkpoint. Anyway, thanks the Singapore car we followed, we were back in Singapore. Gerald drove himself home, then Martina took over the wheel to drive Joanne and I home.
And this is the end of my 4 days trip in Malacca. I would like to thank Martina and Gerald for organizing this trip. I would also like to thank Joanne for her company in the trip. I had a great and memorable time in Malacca.
Due to some technical problems, I will upload the photos in another post.
