What a day i had today. Met Joanne in the afternoon at orchard mrt. Then we went to taka as I wanted to go look for 小鬼's pictorial book. Found it at kino and bought it. Bought the book as a reference to some of my future works. 小鬼 has some very interesting and unique concepts to his works. Walk around town for awhile then decided to go some place to sit. (suffering from minor aches from soccer yesterday.) So we stopped by centre point and went to coffeebean to have a drink. Joanne ordered an ice blended drink and I ordered a bottle of orange juice. When we were there, the place had not many customers. I chose a seat at the corner of the cafe. While drinking and listening to my ipod, I decided to read the book I just bought. While reading through the book with Joanne, this lady walked to the table next to ours. As she walked past our table, she knocked the cup of orange juice on my table onto my book. "AHHHHH!!!!" I had just bought the book damnit! She said "sorry" and went to her seat to enjoy her cup of drink while Joanne and I were busy cleaning up the mess she created on our table. We were dumbfounded by her actions. No signs of guilt and not even offers to help with the mess. Not being a very brave person, I just sat and continued cleaning up but this moment, my very brave girlfriend spoke up for me. Joanne said loudly, "Wa lao, we just bought the book today leh." To our astonisment, there was no response from the lady. Joanne then called her and showed what she did to my book. She told the lady that she should compensate for the book. Joanne had initially wanted her to buy the book but she was not interested. So she got her to pay for it instead. She paid me $26 for the book. (75 cents cheaper than what I paid.) After that, we left the place. What a "lucky" day I told myself. Thankfully, the book was only mildly stained, nothing serious. I would like to thank Joanne for her utmost helpfulness. Just look at the mess she created.
